I cleared Pac-Man Arrangement, a 1996 maze game from Namco that was released as part of the Namco Classic Collection vol. 2 arcade cabinet.

Pac-Man Arrangement is similar to Pac-Man but with new stages, new powerups, a new ghost that can transform all four of the original ghosts into a new form, and a new final boss. It also has simultaneous 2 player co-op, although I played single player in this run.

It's a fantastic game! I'm especially impressed with the single-use dash pads that only activate if you walk on them in the direction that they're pointing, as they essentially give you a brand new ability and make you feel like you're in full control over whether or not you want to activate it, without having to put it on a button. It's also refreshing to have a version of Pac-Man game with a definitive ending to go for, instead of just having endless looping or score attack.

At first I was worried that this game was going to be too routing-heavy, because I really struggled whenever I got taken off-route and had to improvise. However, this was just a side effect of me being new to the game and struggling to dodge ghosts. Once I got a feel for making quick dodges I had no complaints at all, other than the early stages feeling too easy once you're good enough to clear the later stages. But a full run is comfortably under 20 minutes so it's really not a huge deal. The game is great, give it a try!
